Hi, Penny! Kudos for trying a shopping ban! Mine taught me some very valuable lessons. Sorry I don't comment much anymore (something had to give, so cutting back on blogging and blog-commenting was a big first step), but please know that I'm still here, and still peeking at all your posts via my Google feed.

But I knew I simply must stop by and comment the moment I read (and got all giddy about it for you!) that you're trying a ban. Then I saw your mention of Circle of Clothes, and realized that a fact-clarification was also in order: my ban was for only 4 months. I first committed for two months, in conjunction with the Wardrobe Refashion pledge, and then signed on for another two months, but that was it - girlfriend was jonesing for some new shoes and dresses! I can only wish I had the self-control of the one-year pledgers, but alas, I know better than to think myself worthy of them, haha!

Sher, I only wish that coat was purchased on Etsy! I actually purchased it on theoutnet.com Not cheap but it's very well made and the best part is that it's made in NYC. I think that made the purchase all that much worth it for me...to be honest...kind of justified some what on spending so much:)

I know what you mean about that little girl, I saw that segment too on CNN. Then I read we have a full hospital out in the ocean wait for them,but all they need is the OK from land to fly in and get the people. Frustrating reading this. My heart goes out to all over there.

Now, in regards to your post, it is so true.
We have so much stuff it's just plain nonsense.
I love to shop and look for stuff and even make some, but honestly I think I have enough in my closet to last me this lifetime and probably next.
I am so glad you jumped into the ban!! That way we can support each other !!! :) I am 19 days in....
